For 70-498, candidates will have to use Microsoft Visual Studio v.2012 in order to address customer value and to make their companies provide high-end software reliably and consistently. The candidates streamline and inspect activities around the whole life cycle.
For 70-498: Microsoft
Delivering Continuous Value With Visual Studio 2012 Application Lifecycle
Management Exam qualifying, the candidates must have technical
expertise of high level with Microsoft tools for improving effectiveness of
software development. In addition, they should have proper knowledge of existing
practices in process improvement along with well-known methodologies of SDLC or
software development life cycle, like Kanban, Scrum, and CMMI (Capability
Maturity Model Integration) along with processes like Lean and Agile.
In the exam, several skills have been required. Some of them are –
Defining End-to-End SDLC (17%): It is one of the important skills
required in which you should understand the importance of Application Lifecycle
Management practices and tools. You have to explain the value of fast feedback
along with the advantages of end-user feedback. In the delivery process, you
should be able to identify the bottlenecks and metrics which highlight them.
You should be able to implement techniques to enhance quality of software while
cutting down end-to-end cycle duration.
Defining Role of ALM Process (16%): This way, you should understand
the benefits and costs of important ALM processes like Scrum, Agile, CMMI
(Capability Maturity Model Integration) and waterfall. You need to learn implementing the
Agile/Scrum process which covers conducting self-organized teams, holding the
planning of Agile/Scrum, daily stand-up/Scrums meetings, Scrum review and
retrospective meetings.
Software Iteration (16%): It covers detecting the releases and flexibility
matrix based on priority items and the strategies to optimize geographically
distributed team and selecting a methodology for risk management. Candidates
should understand scoping the effort for defining a design process of a network
architecture and scope boundaries.
Developing High Quality Customer Value (17%): This study includes
performance and security analysis, conducting code review, determining code
coverage, analyzing common defects, and conducting architecture
validation.
Defining End Value for Iteration of Software (17%): In this study,
candidates are required to define project requirements, clarify and review
them, define criteria for acceptance and requirements for UI platform and
assign a business value.
Integrating Operations and Development (17%): This study requires
candidates to conduct the process of automatic deployment. This process
includes integrating automated trials and deploys workflow in both production
and test environments. It is related to automate the development of virtual
testing environments and automate deployments.
